Habitat Magazine covers issues regarding everything from agriculture to wildlife. They chose topics that somehow relate to the progressive world around us. There is never a filler article nor is there a section that is based solely on opinion. This magazine fuses the natural world around us with the tech world by giving the unbiased facts and stories.
This issue covers more food and agriculture related information.

Target AudienceThe target audience for this magazine consists of young intellectuals in their mid to late twenties. They are heavily reliant on technology and generally very curious. They enjoy problem solving and looking deeper into information. The audience enjoys patterns and piecing things together as well. They don't enjoy distractions from main concepts or unnecessary obstacles. These are very straight forward people who like their information up front.

I tried to gear the cover towards my target audience more with this. They don't enjoy bright colors or busy works so I took a more minimal approach. Let me know what you think!

For this exercise I started off just trying to fit the grid and work around that. But after the first two I really wanted to target my audience so I changed to a four column grid and chose certain elements I am going to stick with throughout the magazine. I feel like the overlay on the black and white photos will unify the articles. As always feedback is more than helpful. Thanks!

I designed these three layouts in a way that made sense to me with the given grid structures. I chose to keep certain elements in each layout consistent by using horizontal lines. My target audience would be 20-25 years of age and well educated. I say that because I purposely left certain blocks of text because I knew my target audience would be able to read through the text without losing their attention or feel overwhelmed. The colors I chose were very picture oriented because I wanted each page to have unity.
