Brannelly AD and DEPARTMENT Updates

Hi guys! I was hoping to get some feedback on these two pages. The first is an ad for Fabletics. I tried to keep it very similar to the actual branding style of the company. It will be a left-hand page next to the TOC. The second is my complete re-work of a department article. This will be a right-hand page sitting next to the "From the Editor" page. Any and all comments are appreciated :)

  1. Brittany – looking good! Ad appears to be an uncomplicated one that could sit next to any other page without a problem – as long as the colors mesh well. The department article has evolved, and you’ve saved what was successful from the previous layout, and improved on other areas. Here are two questions:

Is the intro paragraph, moving across the full page, as readable as it could be? Are the line widths too long? I’m really not sure because I can’t print this out from here. That’s what you need to do – print it out and see what you think. If that long line width does seem too long, then your solutions include enlarging the pt size (and the leading), or indenting both right and left margins of the paragraph. I can see that you don’t seem to have noticeable “rivers” - good!

Are worms insects? Nope, they aren’t. Too bad because I love the image… but you’ll need to replace it with a group of insects.

  2. Really good work Brittney!

Your AD works perfect for your audience! I think it would be interesting seeing the white bar go all the way across? even behind her back? Just a thought. Also with the typography maybe add some more life by making something bold or bigger, I don't know exactly what but something to make it a little stronger.

Department looks great! Love the cropping of the photo! Good touch!
